Sample Bio: Joe Schmoe (Jim Bob the Nun) is appearing in his third show for the Solvay High School Drama Club. Previously, he appeared as “Jim Bob the Lunch Lady” in The Cafeteria and “Jim Bob the Butler” in The Butler Ate It. Joe has worked with some local theatre companies including Appleseed Productions as "Jim Bob the Mime" in Can You Hear Me Now?, The Wit’s End Players as “Jim Bob the Banker” in How Much is a Dollar Worth?, The Talent Co. as “Jim Bob the Singer” in A Musical, and Syracuse Civic Theatre as “Jim Bob the Grownup” in What’s the Opposite of Peter Pan? Joe is a senior at Solvay High School, and is a member of the Latchkey Club and on the varsity mopping team, who named him MVM (Most Versatile Mopper) last year. When not in school or playing various “Jim Bobs”, he has a part-time job as an apprentice machine operator at a local button factory, where he was recently named Apprentice of the Month, which comes with its own temporary parking spot (too bad he doesn't have a car). Joe thanks his parents for supporting him and driving him to rehearsals; his peeps - Shaggy and Scooby; his amazing producer, director, music director, and choreographers for making him look and sound good on stage; and the very talented and fun cast and crew. This is the place to be! |

Tips and Guidelines For those of you who may never have written a bio, here are some pointers about what to and not to include: Include: Other productions you’ve worked on, including the title, where it was done, and your role in it; your grade; other pertinent theatrical facts about you; other school and outside activities you're involved in; a special “catch phrase” that you always include in your bios; and special thanks to family and/or friends. Do not include: Inside jokes that absolutely no one will understand; extremely personal facts; or anything that would not be considered PG-13 or lower. Depending of the amount of space available in the program, your bio may be edited down to a smaller size. If this is done, every effort will be made to leave in the essentials. You will be given an opportunity to proof your bio for any corrections that need to be made before the program goes to final print. If at that time you have any questions about how your bio was edited, please talk to Jon Wilson. If you have never written a bio before, use the questions below and sample bio (above) to help you in your writing endeavor.
